Sydney-based Webber & Tonkin has been appointed the official distributor of Danish jewellery brand Julie Sandlau in Australia and New Zealand.
Webber & Tonkin, the local distributors of Trollbeads from 2006 to 2011 and byBiehl since early 2012, plan to have the sterling silver, 22 carat gold-plating and gemstone jewellery collection in 80 to 100 stores by the end of 2013.
Webber & Tonkin managing partner Lily Webber said the company decided to take on Julie Sandlau as it “fits neatly within our preferred product category of premium branded jewellery”.
“The Danish are well recognised for their innovation and design with pure and clean lines and this style of jewellery sits well with Australian fashion and culture,” she said.
Webber said the brand, which is currently sold in premium department stores such as Barneys and Harvey Nichols, will be locally targeted at the “discerning woman who loves something different and unique and appreciates quality and style” via a national marketing/public relations campaign.
Launched in 2004, Julie Sandlau has garnered a celebrity following with Reese Witherspoon, Keira Knightly, Drew Barrymore and Gwyneth Paltrow, Cindy Crawford, Helena Christensen, Jessica Simpson and J.K. Rowling all having been photographed wearing the brand.
