Lily Webber and Jane Tonkin, the local distributors of Trollbeads from 2006-2011, have launched a new beaded jewellery collection in Australia.
Called byBiehl, the Danish brand consists of just over 50 pods that can be worn on leather bracelets and necklaces, as well as coordinating earrings.
According to Webber, byBiehl was founded in 2010 by Charlotte Biehl, a former management consultant who found it difficult to find “some simple, stylish jewellery in high quality” at an affordable price and so began producing it herself.
Now sold in Scandinavia and currently entering the German market, the byBiehl collection is based around removable pods which “easily slide” onto the bracelets and necklaces where they remain in the desired position due to an internal spring.
Webber said the key selling points of the collection included simple, stylish and natural design, flat bracelets and pods which “give a new and more elegant look”, and high quality (silver is rhodium-plated , goldplating is 3 micron 18 carat, stones are set rather than glued and leather is chrome-free) at affordable prices.
She added that a ring collection is due to be launched this month and that silver mesh bracelets will be released “soon”.
