After two years R J Scanlan & Co has decided to cease distributing Trollbeads in Australia and New Zealand to concentrate on its core brand, Dora.

Marketing manager Chris Scanlan said the company will cease distributing the Danish personalised bead brand at the end of this month (December).

Trollbeads will then handle sales directly from its Denmark headquarters until it appoints a new distributor for Australia.

Scanlan said the company’s two-year partnership with Trollbeads was “an interesting and enjoyable experience” but “our 2013 release of Dora Platinum 600 and ongoing success with Dora wedding rings and Dora GEO rings have convinced us that with additional focus in our core brand of Dora we can grow our ring business much further.

“R J Scanlan & Co wish Trollbeads and its eventual distributor all the best in the future,” he said.

Scanlan stressed that despite the end of the company’s distributorship, it would be “business as usual” for Trollbeads stockists in Australia and New Zealand (approximately 70 stores).

“Trollbeads will continue to handle all local sales and service from Denmark,” he said.

“The only real change for stockists will be that the company has no one here on the ground until they appoint a new distributor.”
