Eight years after launching in the local market, Australian jewellery manufacturer Georgini has become an “international brand” with distributors in South Africa, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Georgini director Gina Kougias said the company began distributing its products in South Africa one year ago, NZ three months ago and the UK two months ago, and now has 60 accounts in South Africa, 35 in New Zealand and 15 in the UK.

“The international roll-out has happened organically,” she said.

“We sometimes feel like we are on a train that keeps going and we just have to keep up.

“I would always joke when people would ask me ‘what are your dreams for Georgini?’ and answer ‘world domination!’. The funny thing is this is becoming a reality.

“As far as I am aware Georgini could be the first commercial jewellery brand in Australia to break through on an international scale.”

Georgini, which will open its second flagship store in Sydney this month, is currently distributed in over 350 jewellery stores around Australia.

Kougias said the brand’s international expansion will elevate the brand locally and thus help boost local sales.

To celebrate and promote the company’s internationalisation, the company has ordered carry bags featuring the names of the major cities where Georgini is now sold (Sydney, London, Johannesburg and Auckland).
