With the absence of EC Moore abrasive discs in the marketplace, Labanda has stepped up and filled the gap with its new line of Labanda Abrasive Discs. “Our discs give you more.”

It has been close to a 12-month journey for Labanda to get a replaceable disc that meets the standard of the Moore discs. Glen Allen Ankins, general manager of Labanda, says, “Not sure why Moore’s won’t supply the product, but it has impacted material houses not only here in Australia, but all over the world and not just for jewellers, but other industries [including] dental and podiatry that have also been impacted from the withdraw of this product.”

“EC Moore has set a pretty high bar for quality and reliability, not to mention the brand name alone speaks volumes. We knew when putting a product up as an alternative it will need to be 100 percent when an artisan clips that brass centre onto their mandrel,” he adds.

“We have been through some major trial and errors getting this new product to market, and I want to thank the various jewellers in Australia [to whom] we kept sending samples to, as they provided the critical feedback we needed to finally settle on a range that could cover the gap left by EC Moore.”

Starting from $0.23 per disc packed in 100 unit lots, the price for these discs compared to Moore is cheaper and readily available to be shipped locally around Australia.

We have narrowed the range to include:

– Only 7/8th-sized discs
– The plastic single-sided Sanding Disc in fine, medium and coarse (see-through)
– New plastic double-sided Sanding Discs in fine, medium and coarse
– Single-sided—Garnet on plastic discs in fine, medium and coarse
– Original Adalox on paper discs in fine medium and coarse

Win a Foredom K-2220-26 Flexi Drive Kit, valued at $750

Including an M.SR Motor and Flexible Shaft, C.FCH foot control, H.20 US handpiece, and the AK11 42-piece accessory kit.
