Showcase Jewellers has celebrated its 2010 Gala Awards with a dinner for 300 retailers and suppliers in the ballroom of Sydney’s Star City Casino.
The Showcase Jewellers Retailer of the Year award was won by Burrow Jewellers from Mildura while Pandora Jewelry was voted Supplier of the Year for the second year in a row.
Finalists in the Retailer of the Year category were Duffs Jewellers from Geelong, Hennings Jewellers from Campbelltown, Camden and Narellan, Greg Neill Jewellers from MacKay, and Mystique Jewellers who own seven stores in Queensland.
Finalists in the Supplier of the Year category were The Jewellery Centre, La Couronne, Mark McAskill Jewellery and Sapphire Export.
CEO Michael Mishevski also announced the Board of Directors for JIMACO Ltd, representing Showcase Jewellers, for 2010/2011 – chairman Stephen Schneider (Shepparton Showcase Jewellers), deputy chairman George Proszkowiec (Terrace Jewellery), Toni Van Den Broek (South Gippsland Jewellers), Sam Coote (W.J. Coote & Sons) and Steve Stavreas (Dimitries Jewellers).
In addition a silent auction during the Awards event raised over $20,000 for the Cure Our Kids foundation, which provides practical support to children battling cancer and their families.
