Seiko opens first boutique in US

The Seiko Corporation of America, a subsidiary of Seiko Watch Corporation, has opened the first Seiko boutique in the US.

Speaking at a party celebrating the opening of the Madison Avenue boutique, Seiko Watch Corporation president and CEO Shinji Hattori said the store’s opening was “a passionate goal of mine”.

“Seiko has been seeking the most ideal timing and location to spotlight our product, catering to our affordable luxury timepieces, including Grand Seiko and Astron,” he said.

“Opening a boutique in a market such as New York City does just that, following standards from Seiko boutiques in Paris, Amsterdam, Hong Kong and Cairo as well as the Wako luxury specialty store in Tokyo.”

Hattori said The New York Seiko boutique is primarily dedicated to Seiko’s prestigious collections, including Astron and Grand Seiko. It also unveils collections never before sold in the US, including Galante and Credor, and various boutique exclusives within the US, including Prospex collections.

“This venture continues to showcase Seiko’s progressive philosophy of presenting paramount design, quality and precision in each new project brought to the US fine timepiece market,” he said.
