Sydney-based watch and jewellery wholesaler Lindsay's has merged with Perth-based jewellery wholesaler Acacia Agencies.

Sydney-based watch and jewellery wholesaler Lindsay’s has merged with Perth-based jewellery wholesaler Acacia Agencies.

The new company, which will be based in Sydney and operate under the Lindsay’s name, is headed by directors Georg Neudecker (Acacia Agencies’ former owner), Stephen Lindsay (Lindsay’s former owner) and Mark McNeil (Lindsay’s former marketing general manager).

Established in 1953 as a watch band and findings wholesaler by Les Lindsay (Stephen Lindsay’s father), Lindsay’s broadened its product mix in the last 10 years to include “quality and affordable” watch and jewellery brands”, Morellato and Sector.

Launched in 2009 by Georg and Moneen Neudecker, Acacia Agencies started out as a gift and homewares wholesaler “with a very small portfolio of ‘gift’ jewellery before transitioning into a ‘jewellery industry-only’ wholesaler/distributor.

The company secured the distribution rights for the brands ALOR, De Latori and AWJ, and also acted as an agency for other brands including Nomination, Oro Collections, Morellato, Sector, Bastian, Breuning, Blumer and Giada.

Neudecker, who is now Lindsay’s sales and marketing manager, said Acacia Agencies and Lindsay’s decided to join forces to realise “some fantastic opportunities and synergies”.

“After working together for just over two years representing Lindsay’s in WA we realised that we shared very similar business principles, ethics and values,” he said.

“We had earned each other’s respect and realised that were some fantastic opportunities and synergies.

“We shared the same passion to excel and had the same desire to be the best at what we do.

“Both companies want to make a lasting impression in the industry and want to achieve it through customer service excellence and brand quality.

Following the rationalisaton of products/brands to “build a balanced, sustainable and complementary portfolio”, the new Lindsay’s will have two divisions:

•         Consumables – findings, watch bands (Alro and Morellato)

•         Branded jewellery and watches – ALOR 18 carat gold and diamond cable jewellery, Sector No Limits watches and Sector men’s stainless steel jewellery.
