Australian luxury pen- and jewellery-maker Curtis Australia has released the second pen in the Jack Nicklaus Collectors Series − the US Open Limited Edition.

Handcrafted in Australia, the sterling silver pen commemorates Nicklaus’s win at his first US Open with “a detailed, finely sculptured relief of Jack driving the first tee in 1962 and a bronze Golden Bear as a finishing touch”.

Curtis Australia founder and director Glenn Curtis said the idea to create pens
commemorating Nicklaus’s distinguished career came during a lunch with the golfer at the Bear’s Club in Florida when “the conversation turned to the significant moments in his unmatched 18 Major career”.

The company released the first pen, the Masters Anniversary Pen which commemorates Nicklaus’s 1986 Masters’ win “last year.

The new limited edition US Open Pen will retail at $870 for the fountain and $650 for the ballpoint.

Curtis said the company had worked closely with Nicklaus on the design and creation of both pens.

“I’m very proud of my relationship with Curtis Australia, the quality of the pens and the quality of workmanship,” said Nicklaus.
