Perth, Australia – In a stunning celebration of Western Australia’s natural wonders, Linneys, a renowned name in luxury jewellery, has launched its latest creation: the Argyle Pink™ Quokka. This exclusive piece is a limited-edition marvel, with only three available worldwide, marking it as a true collector’s treasure.
The Argyle Pink™ Quokka is a masterful fusion of artistry and rarity, paying homage to two of Western Australia’s most cherished symbols: the rare Argyle Pink Diamonds™ and the beloved quokka, known as the world’s happiest animal and native to Rottnest Island. Priced at over AUD $500,000 each, this unique objet d’art embodies the essence of luxury and exclusivity.
This exquisite piece features 3.39 carats of Argyle Pink Diamonds™—among the last to be unearthed from the now-closed Argyle Diamond Mine—set alongside 10.96 carats of white and Argyle champagne diamonds. The stunning gemstones are elegantly paired with approximately 280 grams of 18K yellow and rose gold, showcasing Linneys’ dedication to exceptional craftsmanship.
A highlight of the design is the 18K rose gold leaf cradled in the quokka’s paws. Encrusted with 2.99 carats of Argyle Pink Diamonds™, the leaf is not just a decorative element but also transforms into a detachable necklace. The necklace, suspended by an 18K rose gold chain adorned with 0.62 carats of bezel-set white diamonds, exemplifies versatility and elegance. Adding to the quokka’s charm, 0.40 carats of pavé-set Argyle Pink Diamonds™ embellish its ears, making this piece a true work of art.
This limited-edition creation was developed in collaboration with Argyle Pink Diamonds™ as part of its prestigious Icon Partner™ Programme. Linneys has held a special relationship with Argyle since the mine’s early days, being among the first luxury jewellers entrusted with these rare gems.
Patrick Coppens, General Manager of Sales and Marketing at Rio Tinto Diamonds, expressed his admiration for Linneys’ latest creation: “As one of the very first luxury jewellers entrusted with Argyle Pink Diamonds™, Linneys was the ideal partner for this one-of-a-kind collectible. The Argyle Pink™ Quokka is a brilliant display of craftsmanship while celebrating the wonderful art of nature in all forms.”
Justin Linney, Creative Director at Linneys, shared his excitement about this world-first creation, stating, “Linneys is thrilled to unveil the Argyle Pink™ Quokka, a piece that pays homage to two of Western Australia’s rarest and most cherished icons—the quokka, with its endearing charm, and Argyle Pink Diamonds™, renowned as the rarest diamonds in the world. Whether collectors of fine art, diamond connoisseurs, or travellers with a special affinity for Australia, we’re certain that the quokka’s cheeky smile will win hearts around the globe.”
The Argyle Diamond Mine, located in Western Australia’s East Kimberley region, was the world’s primary source of pink diamonds from its opening in 1984 until its closure in 2020. With less than 0.1% of the mine’s production comprising pink diamonds, the end of its operations has only increased the rarity and allure of these precious stones.
The Argyle Pink™ Quokka not only highlights Linneys’ commitment to preserving the legacy of Argyle Pink Diamonds™ but also stands as a testament to the brand’s dedication to exceptional craftsmanship and its deep connection to Australia’s natural beauty. As Linneys continues to celebrate the unmatched allure of Argyle Pink Diamonds™, this exclusive piece is poised to become a symbol of both luxury and cultural significance.
