In the watch and jewellery industry, trust is everything. We rely on it at every level of our business, with staff, suppliers, and especially our trades who manufacture and repair our clients’ valued possessions. Jeff Addison, the owner of Labanda, has a lifetime of experience in the industry and understands the integrity and hard work that goes into the respective businesses.
Despite supplying jewellers tools for over a decade, the big brand named tools, machines and quality consumables on offer has people talking. When viewing their range, you will see items and brands that busy workshops need and rely on. Still, they have a diverse range of intermediaries and budget tools for that one-off job or affordability for the beginner group. Including apprentices – you all get a nice discount making your tool budget stretch further.
“I was really surprised by the range and knowledge Jeff and his team [have] regarding jewellery manufacturing. It was by chance I tried them as I couldn’t get something I was chasing. They didn’t have the exact item but had a fantastic alternative which I now use. We are making regular orders with them for many of the workshop’s consumables. I say to everyone – give them a go – you will be surprised what they have got,” says Angelo Andronis from By Baby Jewellers.
When talking with Jeff, you quickly appreciate that he always strives for a win-win approach for the retailer and customer. “It’s pretty easy when you think about it. Keep costs down for the retailer and send the repairs or supply the parts, tools and consumables with a commitment to fast turnaround times,” Jeff says. Jeff began his journey in watchmaking as an apprentice under Wallace Bishop. Through dedication and hard work, he ascended to workshop manager. Building upon his expertise and passion, he later embarked on an endeavour, establishing his own trades workshop. Jeff’s remarkable progression from apprentice to workshop manager, and finally, to a successful business owner, is a testament to his commitment to watchmaking and his determination to carve out his path in the industry.
Glen Allen Ankins, general manager of Labanda says, “Everything we do is focused on [the] trade level. Our number one priority is to support the retailer whether that’s a watchmaker, jeweller, repair kiosk, and so on. We commit to holding large amounts of stock across a wide range of brands at great prices to meet the needs of our customers servicing the general public.”
Dean Pobar, Labanda’s workshop manager says, “We are [also] working with many jewellery shops around the country providing fast efficient watch repairs at fantastic trade prices. This really takes the pressure off a lot of jewellery stores who find it hard to find qualified tradespeople to do their work whom they can rely on and trust that they are getting the consistency and quality of work we strive for. Being a full materials warehouse and supplier of tools and equipment, we are stocked to take on a wide variety of watches the industry needs us to repair, that and the quick turnaround times are what make us a popular choice as a preferred repair agency.”
Jeff Addison has spent a lifetime driving trust into his business for all jewellers and watchmakers to engage with in their search for quality products and services at reasonable prices. So who are you trusting to support your business? As Angelo Andronis says, next time you are looking for a product or a service – give them a go.
