The Victorian chapter of the Gemmological Association of Australia will hold its “biggest and best ever” gala dinner and graduation in Port Melbourne next Friday (March 18).

GAA publicity officer Kathryn Wyatt said “over 80 guests will be wined and dined on the night in true James Bond-style to the theme of ‘Diamonds are Forever’ on the waterfront at Pier 3″.

She said some of “the most successful names in the business” will be introduced to Victoria’s newest gemmologists (the 2011 graduates) at the event which will be a “fun-filled night of champagne and martinis, fantastic food, entertainment, an auction and amazing raffle prizes.”

A comedy film starring the GAA Victorian Council Members and a documentary featuring the new graduates will also be premiered on the night.

Wyatt said guests are encouraged to dress up as their favourite James Bond character at the event.

All profits from the night will go towards the Yalari Charity, which provides Indigenous children from regional, rural and remote communities and towns across Australia with scholarships at some of Australia’s leading boarding schools.

For ticket bookings please call the GAA on (03) 9326 6160 or email: vic@gem.org.au
