Swarovski Gems will showcase its “precision-cut genuine gemstones and created stones” for the first time in Australia at the JAA International Jewellery Fair in September.

Kurt Zbinden, Swarovski Gems vice president operations for South-East Asia, said the company was excited to showcase its products and service portfolio in Australia.

“Fair visitors will be invited to experience the many facets and brilliance of the world of Swarovksi Gems and discover why it is the international market leader in precision-cut genuine gemstones and created stones,” he said.

“They will be able to find out about the brand’s innovative ways and the unique variety of services and products that are guaranteed to increase quality and value.”

In addition Swarovski Gems trend expert Birgit Rieder will present the company’s Gem Visions 2014 report at the Fair.

The report, by “the brand’s world-leading, inspirational trend and design service”, explores the 2014 megatrends and design directions in jewellery, watches, eyewear and lifestyle electronics, and will include a jewellery design by Australia’s own Georgini.

Company director Gina Kougias said the company was approached by Zbinden at last year’s JAA International Jewellery Fair and asked to participate in the annual design event as well as design a range of Georgini jewellery using Swarovski created zirconias”.

She said she worked with Georgini’s inhouse designer Jenny Daskalakis and her daughter, Georgini marketing manager Marissa Gouras, to create all the designs including the ‘Fur Elise’ necklace which is featured in Gem Visions 2014.

“We are very humbled to have been asked to participate in such a prestigious and worldwide event,” she said.

“It is a great feeling to be recognised as designers and leaders in the silver Jewellery market.”

The JAA International Jewellery Fair will be held at the Sydney Exhibition Centre from September 1- 3.
