Two of the ‘grand masters’ of the jewellery industry have combined their skills to create the Sea Shell Collection Masterpiece Ring for Nationwide Jewellers.
Gabi Tolkowsky, arguably the world’s most famous diamond cutter (The Centenary, The Golden Jubilee and The Pink Sunrise), developed the Sea Shell Collectionof diamonds in 2005.
Each stone in the Sea Shell collection “is cut individually based on the specific characteristics of the rough” and is packaged with a CD that has music based on a digitisation of the diamond’s gem print.
In 2008, Nationwide Jewellers brought Tolkowsky to the JAA Australian Jewellery Fair and introduced him to another grand master, Rex Steele Merten, a jewellery designer who has won four Diamonds International Awards and the only Australian jewellery designer to be admitted to the Diamonds International Academy.
