The Australian Design Centre, based in Surry Hills, Sydney, continues its exhibition of contemporary jewellery throughout August and September.

In partnership with the Jewellery and Metalsmiths Group of Australia, the ADC has shortlisted a diverse group of 73 national and international contemporary jewellers and object designers for the exhibition. Their work considers concepts from the personal to topical, crafted across a wide material range from precious gold to plastic waste.

The exhibition is entitled Profile: Contemporary Jewellery and Objects Award and was first held in 2019. Numerous prizes are offered to exhibitors and will be awarded at the conclusion of the exhibition.

The exhibition features several panel events during the showing including discussions on contemporary jewellery by the artists and experts, guided tours of the gallery, and the opportunity to meet local jewellers and object makers working at the jewellers’ bench—a chance for visitors to chat with the artists about their processes and craft.
