Swiss watchmaker JeanRichard has become the global partner as well as ‘Official Watch’ of English Premier League football club Arsenal FC.
According to the watchmaker, the long-term partnership marks a major step forward for the Swiss watch brand which is now going to play in the ‘Premier League’.
Announcing the partnership, JeanRichard CEO Bruno Grande said the watchmaker and the football club share the same “philosophy of life” and “a strong heritage combined with young team spirit and style”.
“JeanRichard and Arsenal are on one common ground,” he said.
“Both are considered forward thinkers in their fields and ‘passing on the ball’ is our common approach.
“The Gunners, just like JeanRichard people, are out ‘on the field’ to make the most of every moment and strive to accomplish extraordinary things day- in and day-out with passion and respect.”
He concluded it was therefore a natural decision that both organisations embark on a new journey together.”
Along with its “significant presence” within the Emirates Stadium on match days and “on the road” with the team, JeanRichard will also unveil a limited edition Arsenal watch in the near future to drive the success of the partnership.
Established in 1886 in Woolwich, south of London, by a group of factory workers before moving to Highbury, in north London, in 1913, Arsenal is now renowned as one of the most successful football teams in English history.
The club’s impressive roll of honour includes English League Champions (13 times), FA Cup winners (10 times), League Cup winners (twice) and European Cup Winners’ Cup (1994) and European Fairs Cup (1970) winners once.
