The International Gemmological Institute (IGI), the world’s largest independent gemmological laboratory, has analysed and graded a 30.18 carat laboratory grown diamond as the world’s largest to date.

The “Pride of India” is the first polished lab grown diamond to exceed 30 carats, sneaking just over the mark at 30.18ct.

The type IIa rough crystal the gem was cut from took approximately four weeks to grow via the Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD) process and was graded to have H colour, VS2 clarity.

Ethereal Green Diamond is headquartered in Mumbai, India, and is well-known for producing large, high quality lab grown diamonds.

Produced by Ethereal Green Diamond LLP, the breakthrough stone is emerald cut and was on display at JCK Las Vegas in early June.
