The 32nd edition of the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair attracted a record-breaking 3695 exhibitors from 49 countries/regions and 59,116 buyers from 157 countries and regions. UBM Asia director of jewellery fairs Celine Lau said visitor numbers from several markets increased significantly – the Middle East (up 25 percent), mainland China (24 percent), India (23 percent), Africa (19 percent), the Russian Federation (16 percent), North America (12 percent) and Europe (6 percent).

‘Today the September Fair is the most influential business-to-business jewellery trade event where the most engaged jewellers in the industry access premium quality buyers,” she said. “It is the ultimate platform for lobbying and agenda-setting for the industry, and for discovering the products and ideas that excite the jewellery market. Moreover, it brings global players together for a thoughtful dialogue.”

She said the fair’s steady growth also indicates exhibitors’ confidence in the event as an effective marketplace and platform to tap into the lucrative Asian markets.

“Demand for jewellery continues to grow globally – and nowhere more so than in Asia.  Data from the China Market Research Report reveals that jewellery sales in mainland China in 2013 reached approximately $75.8 billion, equivalent to roughly 41 percent of the global consumption.”

The 2015 September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair will be held from September16-20 at the AsiaWorld-Expo and from September 18-22 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
AWE will showcase jewellery raw materials, equipment and packaging while the HKCEC will showcase finished jewellery.
