Thirteen of the world’s most famous jewellery brands are put under the loupe in a new documentary series.

The 13 brands featured in ‘Masters of Dreams’ are Boucheron, Buccellati, Bulgari, Chaumet, Chopard, Damiani, De Beers Jewellery, Forevermark, Graff Diamonds, H. Stern, John Hardy, Stephen Webster and Verdura.

Created by French Connection Films, Quasar Multimedia and Current Affairs Hambrook Communications, the four-part documentary series takes viewers on “a magical trip around the world to get an exclusive inside look at the inspiration, design and creation of today’s most magnificent jewels”.

“The documentary brings to light the history of these brands, their global footprint, as well as their unique position in the world of luxury jewellers,” said French Connection Films series spokesperson Jim Le.

“From the original drawing boards to the studio workshops, viewers can finally witness first-hand how these jewellery houses manage to bring their ‘dreams’ to life.”

The series also takes viewers inside exclusive events such as the Christie’s New York auction of the Elizabeth Taylor Collection, the opening of Bulgari’s ‘125 Years of Italian Significance’ retrospective in Shanghai, the 2012 Cannes Film Festival and the Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris.

Le said the documentary series has screened in France and French Connection was now working with various channels and networks to organise its screening “in Australia and other parts of the world”.

In the meantime, the ‘Masters of Dreams’ set, which includes two DVDs and a 24-page booklet with photos and profiles on the 13 jewellers featured in the series, is however available for purchase at amazon.com and frenchcx.com
