Graff Diamonds has unveiled the US$55 million ‘Hallucination’– a multicoloured diamond timepiece which it believes is “the most valuable watch ever created”.

According to the London-based jewellery company, the ‘Hallucination’ takes jewellery watch making to a new level with “an unprecedented kaleidoscope of over 110 carats of extremely rare coloured diamonds”.

Graff Diamonds founder and chairman Laurence Graff developed the concept for the watch, which was then created by the company’s team of designers, gemmologists and master craftsmen who “worked intensively for thousands of hours in order to perfect the piece”.

Graff said the finished product is “a sculptural masterpiece, a celebration of the miracle of coloured diamonds.

“For many years I have thought about creating a truly remarkable watch that illustrates our all consuming passion for diamonds.

“The Hallucination has made my diamond dream a reality.”

Founded in London in 1960, Graff Diamonds now has over 35 stores around the world.

The company, which is involved in every stage of the jewellery making process from the sourcing of each rough stone through to the cutting, polishing and final setting, claims to  have “handled more diamonds of notable rarity and beauty than any other jeweller”.
