Fairfax & Roberts, one of Australia’s oldest and most respected high-end jewellery stores, has released a sterling silver jewellery and gemstone collection that will be sold at Myer Sydney City and Myer Melbourne City.
With prices starting at just $190, the sterling silver collection is a dramatic change in direction for the company which was established in 1858 and has “since set the standard in Australian jewellery craftsmanship of the finest quality”.
Catherine Barnett, Fairfax & Roberts’ in-house designer and creator of the new Portrait collection, said the company has long been renowned for its high quality materials and craftsmanship.
“Portrait offers these qualities at a price that is most affordable,” she said.
“Traditionally, Fairfax & Roberts has been an exclusive line, very luxurious and high-end, and the idea behind this new diffusion collection is to give people accessibility.
“With Portrait we prove that the workroom is willing to push the boundaries by incorporating sterling silver into the collection, which many high-end luxurious jewellers will not do due to the specific skill set it takes to master the material.”
Barnett said Portrait embodies Fairfax & Roberts’ house philosophy of exceptional design and premium quality.
The new line has five collections within it including Petunia, which is inspired by the couture brooch that was exclusively housed by the brand, Adorn, which is influenced by the Victorian era and resembles a secret garden of entangled vines and flowers, and Vanguard, which is a reflection of the brand’s “classic modernity and pure elegance”.
Each piece in the collection is limited in number, and stamped with the jeweller’s hallmark.
Apart from in the two Myer flagship stores, Portrait will also be available at Fairfax & Roberts store in Sydney and its online e-boutique.
