Reed Exhibitions Australia and Expertise Events have launched a new joint venture company branded Fair Events which will take over the management of three local jewellery events.

The new company will be responsible for the management of the inaugural National Jewellery Forums in Perth and Adelaide in October, the JAA Australian Jewellery Fair on the Gold Coast in March and the Brisbane Gift Fair next July.

In an official statement the new company said the “strong existing brands will ensure the joint venture starts from a solid and established foundation”.
Gary Fitz-Roy, managing director of Expertise Events, who will be solely responsible for the management of Fair Events, said the JAA International Jewellery, which is held in Sydney in September each year, would remain under Expertise’s control.

He said the joint venture would therefore not affect exhibitors at this year’s Fair “at all” and would only impact on visitors at the Fair “in a positive way” as the Fair will now “accept the Reed gift card as part of the ID for registering”.

“The joint venture’s a great combination of Australia’s largest independent and the world’s largest exhibition organiser.

“Our two organisations have had a long association and to be working co-operatively is exciting. Some of the ideas already tabled just make common sense and who knows where we might end up.”

He said the venture “makes sense” as “Reed is a large global player which can add value and equally we can move quickly in the market”.
“The industries we work in will be the winners.

Fitz-Roy stressed that although the company will be launching new exhibitions in the future there are no plans to launch any new jewellery events in the coming months.

“Now isn’t the time to be launching new jewellery events,” he said.

“We need to ensure our events are robust and keep meeting the needs of both retailers and the supply industry.”

Debbie Evans, managing director of Reed Exhibitions Australia, added that “in today’s market, alliances assist in ensuring that the best input from different organisations can be pooled, shared and used to deliver better results for our customers.”

“In the current climate, working smarter to deliver a better return for all stakeholders is essential; both exhibitors and visitors will benefit from this initiative.”

Expertise Events is an Australian owned and managed exhibition and event organiser which runs more than 30 trade and consumer events in Australia and New Zealand.

Reed Exhibitions runs over 440 events in 36 countries including over 20 events in Australia.
