Worth & Douglas

Family owned Worth and Douglas have been at the forefront of New Zealand and Australian artistry and craftsmanship in the jewellery industry since 1953.

Offering both established brands including Karen Walker Jewellery (01, 02), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit alongside their own in house brands such as W&D, ZiRO (03, 04), Memento, Best Friends, LUV YOU and BY YOU (05), Chris Worth credits the brand’s longstanding success to their amazing team in New Zealand and Australia.

“We pride ourselves on excellent service, craftsmanship and the trust and friendships we have built with our customers over the (nearly) 70 years.”

Chris’ top pick for retailers to stock over the Christmas period is the Karen Walker Jewellery range – a perennial favourite and consistent top seller.

“We have lots of exciting new releases coming out just in time for the Christmas rush. Last year’s Karen Walker Jewellery dish promotion sold out immediately, so don’t miss out on the exciting things coming this season,” Chris says.

In keeping with our theme this month of Men’s Jewellery and Watches, Chris is most excited about their ZiRO range of black zirconium rings.

“While our ZiRO rings are all bespoke and appeal to all genders, the black ring naturally lends itself to cool men’s designs,” Chris says.

Popular at the moment are simple, understated ring designs in either a polished or matte black finish. The biggest change in appetite for men’s jewellery has been the unique customisation of pieces.

Many of Worth and Douglas’ rings are made to order and personalised in some way. Unique engravings are popular including different patterns, personal messages or fingerprints engraved on the band as well as the addition of stones or change in coloured metals.

“It’s a big part of our business and the uniqueness in customers’ designs always excites us. We continue to do and see new and different designs. It’s great,” Chris says.

Worth and Douglas anticipate that the trend to look out for next season will be more consumers discovering lab grown diamonds. Due to
them being close to flawless, the competitiveness in price and the perception of a more ethical choice, Chris explains that lab grown diamonds are appealing to customers.
