JIMACO’s board of directors has appointed Carson Webb as the senior executive of JIMACO Ltd and its subsidiaries.
Webb’s appointment as general manager of JIMACO, the owner of the ‘Showcase Jewellers’ brand “follows a comprehensive executive search and a strategic review of JIMACO’s internal structures which were conducted to ensure the organisation continues to move forward”.
Webb joined JIMACO in 2011 from an extensive background in the jewellery industry and other retail organisations at senior management levels.
JIMACO chairman George Proszkowiec said Webb’s broad experience “continues to be invaluable to the ongoing growth of JIMACO and its shareholders”.
“The organisation remains focussed on providing Showcase Jewellers members with programs, systems, resources, tools and professional services to enable them to maximize their business objectives.”
Michael Mishevski, the CEO of Showcase Jewellers for over 18 years, resigned from his position.in July – just one month after being asked to stand aside while an investigation into the buying group’s operations was carried out.
In an email sent to suppliers and business partners at that time, Proszkowiec said Mishevski had been asked to stand aside on full pay in response to “certain matters that have been raised by our auditors, and in line with the Board’s commitment to good corporate governance and following due process”.
Speaking to Jewellery World at the time, Proszkowiec said Mishevski’s resignation would make “absolutely no difference” to the buying group’s dealings with its suppliers and business partners.
“The organisation is continuing to move forward,” he said. “The relationships we have formed will continue in the future.”
