For the first time in the company’s history, Swarovski has named a companywide creative director. Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert has been appointed to the position as part of the company’s restructuring. Globally renowned fashion editor Engelbert will oversee all of the company’s endeavours from jewellery to stemware and chandeliers. The appointment is a non-traditional choice for the brand. Family-owned for 125 years, Swarovski has undergone major personnel changes recently as part of a complete restructuring.

Nadja Swarovski, the most well-known face of the brand, has apparently taken a backseat, while Robert Buchbauer was named CEO in April. Engelbert got her start in the industry at 17 as a model for Dolce & Gabanna. She’s worked as a stylist for global Vogue editions and famously pulled off six extraordinary outfits at four events across two countries in her 2016 wedding.
