Thomas Sabo’s new 18 carat yellow and rose gold plated jewellery collection was an “instant success” at the JAA Australian Jewellery Fair in Melbourne, according to local distributor Duraflex Group Australia.
Duraflex’s head of marketing and communications Celeste Ferraris (pictured) said the Golden Silver collection, which was officially launched at the Fair, was “received extremely well” by new and existing stockists of the German brand.
“We are extremely happy with the response from visitors to our stand,” she said.
“The take-up of the new 18 carat gold-plated pieces has been fantastic.”
Ferraris said the addition of the 18 carat gold-plated pieces transformed Thomas Sabo’s internationally renowned sterling silver range into a tri-colour collection giving customers the extra choice of yellow or rose metal pieces “without the usual price-tag associated with gold jewellery”.
For example an Arabesque pendant which retailed for $159 in sterling silver would retail for $229 in gold-plating.
“This isn’t a substantial price increase so the brand is still in the affordable luxury jewellery segment,” she said.
“Sixty seven percent cent of the range still retails for less than $300.”
