Sams Group Australia is aiming to make pink diamonds and pink diamond jewellery accessible to all Australian jewellery retailers.
The company, well known as a supplier of Classique and RM Williams watches and Tresor Paris and Blossom Copenhagen jewellery as well as ring mounts, has just launched its Fancy Colour Diamonds and Pink Kimberley Australia collections.
The former is comprised of Argyle pink diamonds in all sizes while the latter is a jewellery collection featuring Argyle pink diamonds and white diamonds set in 18 carat gold.
Sams Group Australia CEO Steve Der Bedrossian said the collections represented a “totally new direction” for the company.
“Pink diamonds are one of the rarest and most beautiful items in the jewellery business and that is reflected in their pricing” said Der Bedrossian.
“They are highly desired by retailers and their customers but until now it has been extremely difficult for most retailers to find a reliable source of pink diamonds or jewellery featuring pink diamonds.
“Basically a lot of retailers want to buy pinks but don’t know where to get them so I’m now offering the service.”
Der Bedrossian said both collections would be aimed at higher-end stores.
“High quality pink diamond jewellery is not a mass market product,” he said.
