Oz valuer wins international award

Queensland-based Symmetry Gemmological and Valuation Services has been awarded the Website of the Year Award 2011 by the Association of Independent Jewellery Valuers.

The company’s website, www.symmetry.net.au , beat off competition from some of the top jewellery valuation companies in Europe, the US and New Zealand to win the award “by a large margin”.

Symmetry owner Kym Hughes said that she was at first surprised to be nominated for the award and then delighted to win it.

“It is comforting to know that my philosophy of employing professionals to handle everything outside of my area of expertise paid off,” she said.

The award is open to all independent jewellery valuers worldwide – not just AIJV members.

AIJV coordinator Adrian Smith said Symmetry’s site scored 100 percent in nearly all of the judging categories.

“It exemplifies good website design and presents both the owner and the profession in a positive light,” he said.
“The judges’ findings were echoed by the AIJV membership who voted overwhelmingly for Symmetry in the final round of judging.”
