Showcase Jewellers recently announced significant management changes. Chairman Terrence Keoghan, shared the news of chief financial officer, Jorge Joaquim’s retirement after 26 years of dedicated service, while also introducing Anthony Enriquez as the newly appointed managing director.
Joaquim’s retirement marks the end of an era at Showcase Jewellers. Under Joaquim’s guidance, Showcase Jewellers not only weathered the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic but also witnessed a notable increase in member purchases, resulting in substantial returns on investment for its members over the past three years.
“We have all benefited from Jorge’s innovative and professional style [and] his commitment to building Showcase’s financial strength,” says Terrence Keoghan. “Working cooperatively with the Board, he helped to jointly spearhead Showcase Jewellers strategic plans, taking Australia’s leading member-owned jewellery support group from strength to strength.”
In bidding farewell to Joaquim, Keoghan extended the well wishes of the Board, members, suppliers, and colleagues. Joaquim plans to spend more time with his family, particularly his wife and grandchildren, and pursue his passions for travel and fishing.
With Joaquim’s retirement on the horizon, Showcase Jewellers eagerly welcomes Anthony Enriquez as the new managing director. Enriquez, a director at Showcase Jewellers since 2019, brings a wealth of experience in business, tax, and finance to his elevated role. Working closely with the Board and the existing management team, including chief operating officer, Nicola Adams, marketing manager, Heather Graham, and merchandising manager, Emma Ellison-Kubecka, Enriquez aims to propel the company forward and deliver exceptional services to members, suppliers, and the trade.
Enriquez’s appointment ensures a smooth transition and continuity for Showcase Jewellers. His experience and positive approach to business, position him well to guide the company toward future growth. In recognition of the importance of a seamless handover, Joaquim will provide support during the transition period for an additional four months.
Terrence Keoghan expressed his confidence in Enriquez’s business acumen and optimistic outlook, underscoring his belief that Enriquez will successfully lead Showcase Jewellers into the future. With Enriquez at the helm, supported by a dedicated management team, Showcase Jewellers is sure to continue its legacy as a trusted and thriving jewellery support group.
