Girard-Perregaux has donated two timepieces to Christie’s Green Day Auction which will be held later this month to raise funds for four leading not-for-profit environmental organisations – Oceana, Conservatism International, Natural Resources Defense Council and the Central Park Conservancy.
The auction, which is being held in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, will according to Christie’s, bring together an unprecedented group of major figures from the art, philanthropy, finance, fashion and entertainment worlds including Hollywood stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert Redford and activist Robert F. Kennedy.
“It’s a game-changer to have so many passionate and talented people link arms on behalf of the environment,” said Susan Cohn Rockefeller, who is co-chairing the event with husband David Rockefeller Jr., philanthropist and environmental activist.
Girard-Perregaux is donating the ww.tc Tourbillon with three gold bridges and the Cat’s Eye Tourbillon with three gold bridges.
