In a thrilling collaboration, Fossil has announced a partnership with Disney to commemorate Disney’s 100th anniversary. Fossil and Disney are set to launch a captivating collection of limited- and special-edition timepieces, leather goods, and jewellery, tailored for collectors and enthusiasts alike. The world will get its first glimpse of Disney | Fossil’s creations on October 12, with plans for the collaboration to expand beyond the initial release.
Fossil’s chief brand officer, Melissa Lowenkron, expressed the deep connection between the two brands, stating, “With a shared core value of ingenuity and rich history rooted in design, Disney and Fossil are kindred spirits… Disney holds a special place in many people’s memories and within Fossil’s archives. We’re thrilled to launch the first part of our long-term collaboration, look forward to sharing more in the coming months and hope people enjoy collecting these unique and nostalgic pieces.”
The Fossil X Disney debut collection includes an array of watches, leather goods, and jewellery, with three standout timepieces inspired by Disney’s iconic character, Mickey Mouse:
Special Edition Classic Disney Mickey Mouse Watch ($779): A vibrant reimagining of the beloved 1992 Mickey Mouse timepiece, capturing the character’s iconic essence in exquisite detail.
Limited-Edition Sketch Disney Mickey Mouse Watch ($779): This watch pays tribute to the original illustration of Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse, featuring handwritten notes from the original artwork and a parchment paper-like dial, reminiscent of a sketchpad.
Limited Edition Shadow Disney Mickey Mouse Watch ($839): Inspired by Mickey Mouse’s unmistakable silhouette, this modern interpretation is both iconic and contemporary.
Ryan White, creative director of watches, commented on the unique appeal of the Sketch watch, stating, “I am particularly excited for the Sketch watch. No one has shown Disney’s Mickey Mouse from the perspective of the Illustrator and the original 2D artists, so we wanted to bring that idea to life in an authentic way as a hand-sketched character design. It’s so different from anything that’s been done,” he says. “This is such a throwback piece to capture the original process of 2D illustration with artists using stacks of animation paper, building each scene or making the characters move. For the historian who appreciates Walt’s innovation and the 2D animation technique, this is a watch for true collectors.”
All three timepieces are designed on the classic Fossil Heritage watch platform, offering precision with Japanese automatic movement and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Each watch features a custom-designed case back with an original Disney Mickey Mouse illustration, making them true collector’s items. They are presented in specially crafted boxes, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Additionally, Fossil X Disney offers special-edition jewellery crafted from stainless steel with hand-placed pavé crystals, redefining Disney nostalgia with a touch of elegance. The collection includes figurine necklaces, ID plaque necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings, showcasing Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
