Five months after the launch of its retail website, www.wsiwatches.com.au, watch and jewellery wholesaler, Fossil Group, has opened its first WSI retail store in Australia.
Announcing the opening of the store in Sydney’s QVB, Fossil Group Australia, which has been wholesaling watches in Australia since 1998, said the company was “responding to a gap in the watch retail market”.
“WSI is a new concept with unique experiences and inspiring stories that’s rapidly gaining attention globally from consumers and the watch industry alike,” the company said.
“With a brand new store design rolling out across Asia Pacific, WSI brings innovation via its clean, modern aesthetic with boutique-style display cases that make shopping for a watch a personal and engaging experience.
WSI currently has 12 full retail stores and over 280 concessions across Asia Pacific, with another 100 locations planned for the next three years via an aggressive rollout strategy.
The QVB store marks the first of its kind in Australia, with a second store to open at Melbourne’s Emporium later this year.
According to Fossil Group, the company is aiming to make WSI “the global retail destination for all affordable luxury watches”.
Fossil Group Inc, a global company specialising in the design and marketing of fashion lifestyle and accessory products, has nearly 400 stores worldwide and a strong e-commerce business.
Fossil Group Australia distributes a number of watch brands with “varying distribution footprints from 35 to 400 stockists” in Australia and New Zealand.
