Expertise Events, the organiser of the JAA International Jewellery Fair and the JAA Australian Jewellery Fair, has launched the ‘Jewellery Industry Awards’ to celebrate the achievements of jewellery retailers and suppliers.
According to Expertise Events managing director Gary Fitz-Roy, the awards, “unlike traditional awards which concentrate on jewellery products and design”, will focus on the people that make up the industry.
He said he was looking forward to working with both buyers and sellers to make the Awards, an exciting new industry celebration.
“As organisers of the major jewellery trade events in Australia, we are thrilled to be able to support the industry in this way,” he said.
“It is important to acknowledge and congratulate those companies and their staff who give so much time and energy to the industry, especially over the last few years.”
To be presented at a gala dinner during the Australian Jewellery Fair on the Gold Coast in March, the awards will be judged by jewellery retailers and suppliers as well as a panel of industry experts.
Nominations in all categories will open on November 1 and will remain open until early 2014.
In late January, the top contenders will be published online so the industry can cast their votes.

• Best Merchandise Display/Window – General
• Best Merchandise Display/Window – Christmas
SUPPLIERS: Awarded by retailer vote
• Best Product – Current and New
• Best Time Piece
• Best Product Marketing
• Supplier of the Year
• Sales Rep of the Year – for each state/territory of Australia
OPEN: Awarded by judging panel
• Industry Innovation Award
• Lifetime Achievement Award
