Edox partners with WRC

Swiss watch brand Edox has become the official timing partner of the FIA World Rally Championship.
ISC, the exclusive worldwide media and commercial rights holder for the FIA World Rally Championship, has announced that the Swiss watch brand Edox has become the official timing partner of the FIA World Rally Championship.
According to Edox, the three-and-a-half year agreement will provide Edox with opportunities to receive global brand exposure through a variety of sources including on-screen graphics.
ISC CEO Simon Long said he was delighted to welcome Edox to the company’s sponsorship portfolio.
“Edox and the WRC are both leaders in their respective fields and pioneers of technical innovation,” he said.
“Timing is vitally important to our sport and the partnership will enable both brands to continue to showcase the very best timing solutions.”
Edox Watches managing director Alexandre Strambini said the WRC is one of the most recognisable brands in world sport and also a leader in technology, so there was “a natural synergy” between the two companies.
“Edox is excited by the opportunities for the association and look forward to announcing high profile initiatives for our partnership in the near future,” he said.
Meanwhile Simon Madziar, the managing director of Mahler Trading (the local distributor of Edox watches) said the new partnership will help build on Edox’s success on the Australian marketin the last three years.
“TV coverage of the WRC series will increase Edox’s brand profile with the Australian consumer after been so popular from the 1960s through to the 1980s,” he said.
“The WRC series has a huge following in Australia.”

In 2008 WRC was covered by 188 countries via 228 broadcasters with a total audience of over 633 million plus 12 million visitors to www.wrc.com.
