DGA extends deadline for young talent

Diamond Guild Australia is extending the closing date for 'Emerging Talent' entry registrations its its 2013 Jewellery Awards competition.

Diamond Guild Australia is extending the closing date for ‘Emerging Talent’ entry registrations it its 2013 Jewellery Awards competition.

The new date for registration to enter will now be July 30 with finished entries due by August 16.

The new “Emerging Talent” category was added to the Diamond Guild Australia Jewellery Awards competition for the first time this year to “actively encourage and nurture the young design and jewellery talent around the country”.

DGA executive officer Melissa James said the award will “recognise the best of this new talent in a highly visible event and provide the finalist and winners with the opportunity to showcase their creativity in a competition with both indstry and consumer credibility”.

‘Diamond Guild Australia recognises its crucial role, as the leading diamond industry association, in supporting and promoting the local trade,” she said.

“We hope that offering this prestigious Award specifically for the ‘up and coming’ members will help encourage new talent to enter, grow and further develop the Australian industry.”

The Winner will be showcased in the national media and online thanks to media partner Qantas – The Australian Way and will receive a trophy and certificate in recognition of their achievement.

In addition, they will have the unique title of inaugural winner of the Diamond Guild Australia ‘Emerging Talent’ Award.
