Showcase Jewellers have kicked off their 2023 conference in style by taking their membership to the stunning Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays. Surrounded by the spectacular views of the ocean, the serene and relaxing atmosphere has carried through the week of activities dedicated to enhancing connection and community in the name of business.
Starting the week off with the Showcase General meeting, members attended a Q&A session with the head office team which aims to consult with the membership and build further relevance with the offering. Following the informative meeting, the conference continued with Diamond Training and Business Succession Training, providing members with the tools to enhance their business through education. The training sessions proved to be another informative part of the conference by introducing members to qualified business experts who provided members with useful information and resources. Showcase Jewellers CFO, Jorge Joaquim says, “We know how important it is for our members to continually speak to experts in multiple fields of business, especially as they are all in different stages of their business lifecycle.”It’s not just all work and no play at the Showcase conference. The conference dinner held at the Reef View Resort had everyone letting their hair down and enjoying their time on the island by dancing the night away. These evenings are crucial in the development of relationships and a brilliant way for members, suppliers and the Showcase team to connect over food, beverages and lots of laughs. Group Chair, Terry Keoghan addressed the attendees with experienced positivity, discussing the challenges we are sure to face as an industry, but reinforcing the strength Showcase members have when they work together as a collective.
To follow up from such a great evening, came the introduction of industry suppliers who brought their finest pieces to show exclusively to the members accompanied by the stunning views of the islands. Gersande Price from Ellendale Diamonds was excited by the response to their range, “we have seen such great success with our product which shows a real point of difference with our Australian Story.” she says. Beautiful pieces of jewellery filled the room and members excitedly shopped well into the late afternoon. Ryan Boyko from Podium loved the location and the positive feedback received from members about their software. Steve Der Bedrossian from Sams Group also really enjoyed connecting with members in such a beautiful location. The stretching landscapes of the Whitsundays have definitely not gone unnoticed by all in attendance, clearly Hamilton Island is a must-see location and a winner for the Showcase conference.
Rick Stearn from Stearns Showcase Jewellers also enjoyed the connections made. He says, “the networking that we do not only with our fellow members, but with our suppliers, really helps us build those relationships. We also really value the advice given to us by our suppliers, who see what’s happening at a national level and can assist with what directions we need to take.” The jam-packed week of the Showcase Conference has been both entertaining and informative for all in attendance proving to be a major success. Showcase Jewellers COO, Nicola Adams says, “We have had a really positive vibe with some great business being done, especially in the morning of our buying day which was really busy with many members and suppliers doing business before lunch.”To finish off a stellar week, the conference concluded with recreational activities planned out on the island so members can relax and get to know each other on a personal level. Building these relationships in an easy-going environment is an integral part of uniting people together and ensuring that members feel connected to each other and part of a community they can rely on.
