The Ten More Girls artist collective is holding its 3rd annual exhibition of contemporary jewellery at Sydney’s Gaffa Gallery this month.
Titled ‘Girls around the World’, the show opens on Thursday (September 9) and continues until September 21.
Ten More Girls was formed by 10 female jewellery designers and makers – Majella Black, Andrea Iglesias, Natasha Marcus-Taylor, A Mi Kim, Bernadette Trainor, Jenny Daskalakis, Nikki Majajas, Jasmine Matus, Radka Passianova and Janis Valdiva – who met while studying at the Design Centre Enmore.
The ‘girls’ are committed to exhibiting every year “to promote and nurture the medium in their local community and beyond”.
This year’s ‘Girls Around the World’ theme reflects the group’s love of travel and interest in diverse cultures and global politics, through wearable artworks made from traditional and unconventional materials including gold, silver, bone and resins.
Five per cent of all sales from the exhibition will be donated to Breast Cancer Australia.
