Melbourne Fair gets ready for more visitors

Expertise Events, the organiser of the JAA jewellery fairs, is expecting an increase in visitor numbers at next month’s JAA Melbourne Jewellery Fair.
Expertise Events managing director Gary Fitz-Roy said feedback on various social media forums indicated that the JAA Melbourne Jewellery Fair’s co-location with the Reed Gift Fair at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre had made the event more appealing to many jewellery buyers.
“The co-location of the Fair has made attendance more cost- and time-efficient for many retailers, particularly those from New Zealand, interstate or out in the country,” he said.
“The co-location has given them more reasons to travel to Melbourne… For example a retailer who stocks jewellery and upmarket giftware can now attend two fairs at once to do all their buying. It’s a new smarter option for them.”
Under the three-year co-location agreement between Expertise Events and Reed, both fairs will be housed in the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre but each will have a separate hall space.
Each fair will also continue to manage separate registration programs although their respective badges will enable visitors to gain entry to both events without the need to re-register.
According to Fitz-Roy, the move is “a win-win for time poor retailers and busy exhibitors”.
“The co-location of these cornerstone events creates the ultimate trade marketplace for the Australian retail industry.”
Over 60 jewellery and watch suppliers, including Chamilia Australia, Cudworth Enterprises, Duraflex Group AustraliaGeorgini, Ikecho Pearls, Peter W Beck and RJ Scanlan & Co will showcase their latest designs at the Fair which will be held on February 2-4.
