Three years after launching its website, Jewellery World has launched its Facebook page.
Jewellery World publisher John Abolins said it was important for the Australian jewellery industry to embrace social media.
“The jewellery industry and the publishing industry have both changed a lot since I first started publishing Jewellery World in 1981,” he said.
“We have tried to embrace change, including the launch of our website in 2008 and now the launch of a Facebook page, to meet the opportunities of the new electronic age.
“A lot of anecdotal evidence suggests that the jewellery industry has been one of the slowest to adopt to the new online/social media world but the industry is changing …”
